This year’s National Police Week will be held May 12^th – May 18^th at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.  At the monument will be many events commemorating those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.  Here is a select list of some of the events. Police Unity Tour Arrival Ceremony - National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.  2:00 p.m. May 12, 2013 18th Annual LawRide Procession will leave RFK Stadium/Armory at 10:30 a.m. for the ride to the Memorial for the wreath laying ceremony and presentations at 11:00 a.m., May 12, 2013. 20th Annual NAPO TOP COPS Awards Ceremony - National Association of Police Organizations – The Omni Shoreham Hotel , 2500 Calvert Street, NW, Washington, D.C.  May 12, 2013 7:00 pm. Roll Call of Fallen Heroes – This year 321 fallen officers’ names have been newly-inscribed will be formally dedicated on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.  This includes the 120 officers who died in the line of duty in 2012 and 201 officers who died in previous years.  This will occur on May 13^th at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) 25^th Annual Candlelight Vigil – This year’s vigil marks the 25^th anniversary of the lighting.  It will be held at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial at 8:00 p.m., May 13, 2013. 11th Annual Honor Guard Competition – There will be 19 honor guard teams competing in this years competition including Federal, State, Sheriff, and Municipal agencies.  West side of U.S. Capitol.  May 14, 2013, 8:00 am. 3rd Annual Pipe Band Demonstration - West side of U.S. Capitol May 14, 2013, 10:00 a.m. FOP/FOPA Wreath laying Ceremony Wreath laying Ceremony sponsored by Fraternal Order of Police/FOP Auxiliary – National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, May 15, 2013, TBD Heroes Behind the Badge - National Police Week Screening Heroes Behind The Badge was filmed across the united states and recounts the stories of law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who survived.  E Street Cinema, 555 11th Street, Washington, D.C. May 14, 2013, 2:00 pm 19th Annual Emerald Society & Pipe band March and Service - 19th Annual Emerald Society & Pipe band March and Service – Assemble at New Jersey Avenue and F Street, NW – Step-off promptly at 6:00 pm. March will proceed to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. May 14, 2013—4:30 pm. 32nd Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Day Services – Sponsored by Grand Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police and Grand Lodge, Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary - Front of the U.S. Capitol, Washington, D.C. May 15, 2013, 11:00 a.m. National Police Challenge 50-Kilometer Relay (NPC-50K) – Race will be held at the U.S. Secret Service Training Center, Laurel, MD.   Funds raised will go to Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and H.E.R.O.E.S., organizations which assist families of those slain in the line of duty.  Coordinated by the U.S. Secret Service Employee Recreation Association May 17, 2013, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Memorial Fund Gift Shop – The Retail Center will be located at First Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall at 309 E. Street NW, from May 10^th – 17^th.  There will be memorial prints, patches, badges, coins, books, clothing, DVDs, and other items available for purchase throughout the week.  Proceeds will go to support the memorial and to honor the fallen law enforcement heroes.
